Russell Creek Park Case Study
Project Overview
Russell Creek Park is in Plano, Texas, and is known as a premier soccer park. The park hosts other athletic events as well, such as lacrosse, football tournaments, and cricket. Russell Creek is the only park in North America having seven cricket fields in a single location.
Our team previously built four soccer fields at another complex in the city with the Envirofill product, those fields were well received by the owner and community. When it came time to install more synthetic turf fields at the Russell Creek location, the city wanted to maintain consistency of products across their facilities for their users year-round.
The Results
Envirofill for the Win
Russell Creek Park has added two side-by-side soccer fields to its park. The park was commissioned by the City of Plano for this new addition.
Sports Design Group designed the layout of the fields. Paragon Sports installed the turf. Envirofill was the infill product for these two side-by-side soccer fields. Envirofill by Motz is a green-coated, sand infused with Microban antimicrobial product protection to help prevent the growth of bacteria, mold, and mildew that can cause odors and stains. Its highly-rounded quartz core resists compression so it doesn’t compact over the life of the turf. Envirofill is non-toxic and reusable making this infill not only cost-effective but also low maintenance. It carries a 16-year warranty, which saves the park money and provides a sustainable option for these new synthetic turf soccer fields at Russell Creek Park.
