Wyoming High School, a public school located in the suburbs of Cincinnati, Ohio, has been a customer of The Motz Group since 2006. With a successful synthetic turf field installation, additional field replacement, and ongoing Motz365 field maintenance during their partnership, Wyoming High School chose Motz to install their new indoor practice facility in 2020.
With a long-standing relationship with The Motz Group and its respected level of expertise, Wyoming High School knew their facility installation would be high-quality and well-managed.
Wyoming High School wanted to expand its athletic facilities to be able to benefit the growing needs of their athletic teams. However, with Wyoming being a smaller, landlocked community and with the school’s campus space at capacity, Wyoming High School needed to develop a strategic design to make expansion possible.
The unique indoor facility is one of the few in the area and posed many unknowns. Wyoming knew that with any new idea, the unknowns would come not only with the design and installation but also throughout the life of the field. They knew they needed a partner that would be with them for the entire field process. The Motz Group offered just that, an invaluable partnership and educational resource for continuous consultation on the field’s possibilities and potential limitations.
The Motz Group worked with Wyoming High School to best utilize the school’s available space — between the softball and baseball fields — to install a new indoor facility. The facility is outfitted with Motz 24/7 slit film turf and matches the same synthetic turf that is on the school’s existing football field. Since the facility was a unique project for the high school and for the area, the school looked to The Motz Group to bring its vision for the facility to life and ensure that it was outfitted with the best turf and infill system to meet the needs of coaches and players alike. With the soccer program, for example, The Motz Group helped strategically design the inside field to bring more opportunities to players with situational training within the goal box. By implementing the coach’s and athletic director’s feedback into the facility’s design, The Motz Group gave the high school added confidence for understanding how best to serve its athletes. Additionally, The Motz Group provided guidance on how to fully utilize the new field space and facility.
Shortly after installation, a ball hit one of the indoor sprinklers and set it off. Allen Verdin, Director of Project Management, rose to the occasion and was at the facility on Monday morning to investigate the impact. Allen was on his hands and knees trying to see if water had pooled and if so, how far it went. Luckily, the water drained off due to the field’s gravel subbase. He made suggestions on the next steps and left a lasting impression on Wyoming High School by showcasing The Motz Group’s commitment to quality customer service. The Motz Group has provided Wyoming High School with outstanding service over the course of our relationship. Their product has outlived the warranty and continues to be a great asset to our community.
