The City of Beachwood in Ohio recently found out that designing the best dog park is “paws-ible” when they broke ground on Barkwood, an off-leash, public dog park located within Beachwood City Park East. Man’s best friend is free to run and play on nearly half an acre of synthetic turf with “playground” features and water fountains for dogs. The pet play zone also boasts benches and amenities for humans and is split into two areas, one for small dogs under 30 pounds and one designated for larger dogs.
Does the “paw-fect” turf infill exist that will fight bacteria and withstand lots of play? Finding the right turf infill for a public dog park is a tall order. It needs to be durable, safe, and hygienic enough for hours and hours of daily play. In addition, the City’s planning team wanted to avoid the smells and stains caused by bacterial growth that is often a problem in dog parks with artificial turf surfaces.
The City of Beachwood decided to install Envirofill in their new synthetic turf dog park because it’s the “ulti-mutt” turf infill for dogs and their humans due to its antibacterial properties that inhibit bacterial growth. It’s a long-lasting, low maintenance, non-toxic, and allergen-free turf infill product that enhances and protects Barkwood Dog Park and the hundreds of residents and furry friends who frequent the park each week. The maintenance crew keeps the synthetic turf lush and free from odors with a simple care routine.
It's a great asset to dog parents in our community. Not only does it provide hundreds of dogs a safe and clean place to exercise and roam freely, but it's also a great place for pet parents to socialize with people of all ages and form friendships
Envirofill is popular in dog parks, veterinary offices, and homes where pets live because it’s the only turf infill infused with Microban, an antimicrobial protective agent that inhibits the growth of bacteria, mold, and mildew, keeping turf clean and free of smells and stains. Microban also reduces ammonia odor from urine by up to 99%.
Envirofill is made from certified non-toxic, non-hazardous materials, so it’s safe for dogs and their human family members. This ensures the well-being of Beachwood’s pet lovers and pups while they enjoy the well-designed dog park.
Envirofill requires minimal upkeep. Aside from light brushing and regular debris pickup, maintaining Envirofill’s lush surface is a breeze. The turf infill can withstand high traffic and extreme weather exposure for years.
