The Synthetic Turf Council Promoted Shaun Garrity as Chairman of the Board of Directors

The Motz Group’s National Sales Manager, Shaun Garrity, was announced as Chairman of the 2022-2023 Board of Directors of the Synthetic Turf Council. Shaun has served on the board for three years as a director and treasurer. Shaun Garrity’s new position as Chairman is an exciting opportunity to provide more of his leadership to the Synthetic Turf Council and be surrounded by other knowledgeable members of the board who all contribute significantly to the organization and the industry.

The Synthetic Turf Council (STC), an organization that serves as the global forum to promote, develop, grow and advocate for the synthetic turf industry, was founded in 2003 as a resource for credible research on the safety and environmental impact of artificial turf. STC membership includes builders, landscape architects, testing labs, maintenance providers, manufacturers, suppliers, installation contractors, infill material suppliers, and other specialty service companies who also provide technical guidance on the selection, installation, maintenance, and environmentally responsible disposal of synthetic turf.

Shaun says, “I am honored to have been chosen to serve the industry in this new role on the Board of Directors of the Synthetic Turf Council. My goal is to promote the industry by highlighting how synthetic turf improves communities, enhances homeowners’ backyards, and ultimately brings people together. Our purpose at Motz is to move people to better lives and I strongly believe that our industry does that every day by connecting communities and friends and encouraging healthy recreation.”

Shaun has worked at Motz for six years and brings a high level of experience in synthetic turf and infill products. He helps Motz provide their clients and partners with the advice they need to install a putting green at home to a sports field at a school or recreational facility. Shaun knows the importance of maintaining a synthetic turf field or landscape has to do with the proper infill, which is designed to keep the turf fibers upright and protected. Motz has remarkable infill products – from the first coated-green sand called Envirofill to Safeshell, a natural infill made from Walnut shells. Shaun has chosen to work with Motz due to their innovative products, high-quality service, and the commitment they show their customers.

Shaun continued, “Part of our culture at Motz is giving back. I’ve been fortunate to be a part of the synthetic turf industry for the past 12 years. Serving on the board allows me to give back to our industry and advocate for the positive change that synthetic turf can bring to parks, sports fields, and backyards.”

Motz is positively impacting  the industry and people’s lives through their work and its Employee Owners. The people at Motz continue to contribute to the industry by utilizing their expertise. Motz is proud of Shaun’s commitment to the industry and his new position on the board of the Synthetic Turf Council.
