Overview

In the transition between seasons, particularly the switch from winter to spring, the change in the weather is something to always be on the lookout for. Things like unexpected flooding or damaging winds can severely impact the safety and playability of the field surface. While there is no way to prevent the impact or damage caused by unforeseeable weather conditions, you can count on the Motz team to help guide your facility through the process of getting your field back up and running. We are a dedicated partner who will provide an assessment and recommendation for proper remediation, along with additional services that help any weather-related synthetic turf damage.

Snow Removal

In the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic, we sometimes see an overlap of winter weather and activities scheduled on synthetic turf fields. In order to keep things moving without being hindered by snow on your field, you’ll want to clear the surface or contact a professional team to help. Questions about the procedures for removing snow from turf are one of the most common calls we receive during winter months. It’s important to know what is allowed with snow removal from your synthetic turf versus what could harm the surface or the future performance of the field.

Damaging Winds

Sometimes excessively strong winds can wreak havoc on your synthetic turf field. It can cause fallen debris and unwanted materials to blow onto your surface. If strong enough, winds can cause other materials or objects to come loose, damaging the turf. Regardless of how it happens, strong winds can negatively impact your surface. Motz is here to help provide guidance on proper debris removal, remove the debris for you, and repair areas in which the synthetic turf was affected.

Flood Recovery

Flooding can be devastating, and in some cases, unexpected. Though synthetic turf fields are built to drain at a high rate, and perform under extremely wet conditions, a flood or flash flood scenario is beyond what any builder can plan for. Motz understands the impact this can have on a community and are ready to step in. We’ll quickly perform synthetic turf water cleanup should this unfortunate situation arise.

After a tornado hit our community in July 2022, we had a lot of debris on our field (tree branches, leaves, insulation, pieces of 2x4, glass, screws, roofing nails etc...). Our district was concerned about the safety of our athletes once we had the ability to get back to our athletic facilities. After one phone call, Motz was on our field the next day. They helped by giving us a final cleaning which gave us the peace of mind that our field was safe for our athletes.
